This means your ship has a limited amount of raw materials with which to effect repairs. You can see your remaining supplies with the ENGINEERING command. If you find yourself running low in an emergency, you can use the CANNIBALIZE <component> command to instruct the computer to derive raw materials from that component the next time you REPAIR something. My how time flies! As our usual form of celebration, we'll be enabling Combat Day! What's that, I hear you asking in the back. Well, it's a day of out of character friendly competition in the form of space combat. Starship stores have a shiny free ship available for you to buy. You then hop into it, launch, and find somebody to fight to the death. This is an opportunity for you to practice your combat skills without fear of retaliation or financial ruin. Points are awarded for each opponent you destroy and points are lost when you yourself are destroyed. You also lose a point for every hour you don't fire a shot. You can see your current standing by typing COMBATDAY and see other's by typing @COMBATDAY. A delightfully confusing distinction (notice the @ sign in the second command). If you find yourself out of comms and thirsting for violence, you can type COMBATDAY to return for the day. Finally, because this is all crazy and out of character anyway, you're free to be out of character on all communicators. Just be sure you follow the other policies regarding the treatment of others. At the end of the day, the person with the most points will receive a prize ranging from somewhere between 'oh, that's neat I guess' and 'my, how fabulous'. Have fun!
