Options

There are several options available to you. To access the complete menu, type OPTIONS. If you know the number or name of the option you want, you can type OPTIONS [#] or OPTIONS [NAME]. For instance, to enable the profanity filter you can either type OPTIONS and then 16, OPTIONS 16, or OPTIONS PROFANITY.

Toggle Object Description Grouping
When there are several objects in a room, it can be rather spammy to see them all. When this option is enabled, instead of seeing a huge list of objects, you will see 'You see a group of miscellaneous objects here.' You can then look at the group to see the list of objects.

Toggle X, Z or Y, Z view for Z-axis on starmap.
The Z-axis of the starmap requires another axis to display properly. The starmap normally displays X-Y on the left, and X-Z on the right. This option enables you to see Y-Z on the right instead, which may help to clarify the position of objects.

Visual Obvious Exits
This replaces the standard "You can go north." with a mini-map of the exits in the room.

Disable Visual Elements (starmaps, etc)
This enables SIGHT mode, which will remove maps and other visual elements from the game. This is primarily to make the game easier to access for those using screen readers.

Hide Room Descriptions
This option will hide the description of rooms when you walk around.

Toggle ANSI Color
This enables viewing items in color. Additional settings can be found in COLOR-OPTIONS.

Confirm Weapon Firing
The default behavior of weapons is to lock and fire. With this option enabled, a confirmation is added, making it lock, confirm, fire.

Confirm Sector Exit
The default behavior for navigation is to simply navigate out of sectors without any indication that this has occured. With this option enabled, you will be asked to confirm if you really wish to exit a sector.

Starmap Grid Labels
This option labels the axes of the starmap with the appropriate numbers. It can make plotting coordinates easier.

Condense Debris Coordinates in Weapon Readout on Starmap
With this option enabled, you will only see the nearest piece of debris in the coordinate readout. For example, with this option enabled you will see "Debris: (1, 2, 3)" With it disabled, you see "Debris: (1, 2, 3), (4, 5, 6), (9, 10, 11)"

Hide Galactic Coordinates
If you have a galactic map unit, this will hide your galactic coordinates from the starmap, decreasing the amount of information you have to process.

Show Coordinates in Destination Lists
Normally, when you type MOVE, you are presented with just a list of destinations. With this option enabled, you will also see the coordinates of destinations in the MOVE list.

Show After Mission Reports
When you complete a mission, you will receive a report of how many ships you hit and how many ships you destroyed. Not that destroyed ships don't get counted as weapon hits in the report.

MCP Keep_Alive
This sends a non-standard MCP message to your client when you have been idle for an extended period of time. This usually helps people stay connected if they are behind a router and or firewall.

Minimize Spam
Removes messages when players use their communicators or whisper to one another. In other words, you won't see "Albori Isahost Sninvel says something into his finger." but you will still see the actual transmission.

Filter Profanity
This will replace select offensive words with asterisks (*). Filters are applied on communicators and in room SAYs, though they may be applied to other places in the future.

Group Powered Starships
This will cause powered starships on a landing pad to be displayed as "You see a group of powered starships here." rather than listing all of the names.

Show only your ships in selections
This option causes you to see only your starships in certain selections, like rearm centers, rather than a list of all powered ships.

Group items in bags and rooms
If you have more than one of an item in a bag, they will be grouped together rather than listed seperately. You will see "five of a charge booster" rather than seeing five charge boosters. This also applies to room descriptions.

Always show basic starmap
When enabled, this will show only the basic starmap without the coordinate rundown. It's the same as typing STARMAP BASIC (SM B).
