Next Generation Wormhole Drives
The Intersteller Shipbuilding Corporation announced today the widespread deployment of the next generation in wormhole drive technology. By swapping a relatively inexpensive component, known internally as the Wocklewomper Originator (or WO), in older wormhole drives, the ISC was able to achieve significant increases in wormhole range. It is expected that this change will do nothing but good for the interstellar economy, allowing starships to trade goods between worlds at speeds they never could before. So where does that leave the somewhat antiquated jumpgate network? ISC representatives will chuckle and tell you that the system will be completely obsolete within a year, but it is the opinion of many that the jumpgate network will be with us for a long time to come.
