Battlecruiser Production Resumes
The Interstellar Shipbuilding Corporation announced today that it has resumed wide scale production of the ten-person battlecruiser starship design. The battlecruiser design was removed from production when the ISC began diverting resources and personnel to a new capital starship design known as the Eviscerator. The project, however, was inundated with delays and technical difficulties. Many believe that the company over-promised and under-delivered when it prematurely announced the new design. Sources close to the project, who wish to remain unnamed due to the sensitive nature of the information, reported that the design was fundamentally flawed from the beginning and that engineers worked around the clock to pave over flaws in the design to achieve a workable product. They also say that, even with the design changes, manufacturing facilities were unable to meet the strict tolerances necessary to construct the starship.
Unconfirmed rumors also speculated that the High Guard stepped in and asked the ISC to shutter the project when it began to affect the manufacture and repair of the Leviathan class capital ships that the High Guard relies on for its military operations. So far there has been no word on the matter from officials from High Guard Command.
When asked for comment, the ISC had only this to say: "We appreciate the public's interest in the Eviscerator project. We want everybody to know that we haven't given up. On the contrary, we have a lot of exciting work in the pipeline that we feel will delight customers who have come to rely on the quality and innovation that the ISC brings to the table. Keep an eye out for upcoming announcements!"
For those who are interested, battlecruiser applications can be purchased from any ISC ship store. Those who already have a license can obtain new stock battlecruisers from the same store.
