Intergalactic Communication Authority Successfully Concludes Project Hermes with Final Long-range Beacon Expansion

In a much-anticipated announcement, the Intergalactic Communication Authority (ICA) today unveiled the final, significant milestone in their ongoing communication beacon project, initiated seven years ago. Sharron Sanders, the ICA spokesperson, shared the groundbreaking update with the Galactic News, stating, "While we acknowledge that the wheels of progress turn slowly, we are delighted to inform the alliances that we have successfully extended the operational range of civilian communicators to an impressive 8,000 lightyears."

This pivotal update comes four years after the ICA's last disclosure, which unveiled the second phase of the beacon expansion. Back then, the long-range communication beacons' coverage spanned a mere 3,500 lightyears, less than half of the newly achieved range. This expansion will undoubtedly benefit explorers and personnel undertaking long-range tactical missions.

The latest beacons deployed feature state-of-the-art onboard hardware encryption, ensuring swift and reliable communications. The ICA expresses confidence that the new beacons will not face the same fate as their predecessors. "We fully endorse these new technological wonders," affirmed Ms. Sanders. "Our scientists have incorporated multiple redundant systems and failsafes capable of withstanding all but the most extreme circumstances, such as being drawn into a black hole."

Alliance High Guard Captain Seth Mendoza, captain of the High Guard leviathan "Rutherford," issued an authorized statement acknowledging the ongoing, strenuous efforts to defend the new long-range communication beacons. "We have collaborated closely with the ICA, bringing the High Guard's renowned intelligence to ensure all beacons have a secure uplink to Alliance High Guard Command. This enables us to swiftly deploy fleets should any enemy compromise a long-range communication beacon."

Despite these advancements, ongoing maintenance continues to face challenges. Captain Mendoza added, "The alliances are currently under more frequent attacks. Where once assaults focused on high-profile beacons within known space, we now see the Praelor dispatching hundreds of ships to target lower-profile beacons, both within the numbered sectors and on the fringes of deep space. Stay vigilant and report immediately to the High Guard if you encounter one under attack."

Here at the Galactic News, we hope this news brings joy and optimism to our readers as we wish you safe travels on your journeys.
