Miriani Daily Changelogs

... for stuff we actually remember to document. Showing 487 days of changes:

All Changes | Last 10 Days | One-Per-Page | Number of days to view:

05-27-26

  • Fixed some issues with the NPC who constantly loses friends in space that caused her to believe that she was still talking to someone and not wander off like she should.

05-25-26

  • To match raw materials marketplace nodes, private upgrade sales facilities and bardenium sheds no longer take tithes into account when withdrawing profits.

05-18-26

  • At long last, architectural design simulators finally support the importing of lifts.

05-14-26

  • Quantum vacuum accelerators should hopefully no longer leave ships stranded in the void.

05-06-26

  • Simulated avatars are now cleared from the owner lists of simulated vanities when disconnecting from the simulation.

04-28-26

  • Pool lockers now properly remove things like pants and jackets. No more getting clothing wet when you're not actually wearing it.

04-27-26

  • Corrected an issue where directional archaeology scanners were mistakenly in debug mode for players, causing them to report the exact coordinates of an artifact instead of, you know, the direction.

04-23-26

  • Guarding security drones will now pluralize and group themselves correctly in the event that there are multiples of the same drone. For example, "A gray security drone, a gray security drone, and a gray security drone simultaneously aim their stun turret attachments at Albori and fire!" now only says "Three gray security drones."

04-22-26

  • Fixed a few bugs in trading centers. They no longer consume components needed to build more complex things, and they now prioritize building things based on how many components are needed.
  • Arresting people for smuggling at a security center no longer breaks when they have mining materials in their ship's cargo.

04-02-26

  • Welcome back an old friend, the IGNORE command! Unfortunately when it was traveling the world, it saw some things. It questioned itself. It questioned all of us. It got beaten down, but it got up again. It grew its hair out. It stopped showering. It came back a new command. Which is to say it only works to ignore people on the OOC channel now. Have fun ignoring "people" (namely Oliver)!

03-04-26

  • It is now possible to import and clone existing closets in the closet lab on Empanda station. Please note that closets must be empty before being imported for modification, and any clothing placed into an existing closet will be lost when the changes are approved.

03-02-26

  • Added support for multiple maintainers of a soundpack. You can add or remove maintainers from within the @UPDATE-SOUNDPACK menu.

03-01-26

  • You can no longer flip tables while sitting or lying down.

02-28-26

  • Added horses to the list of mounts that can be created in the mount lab on Empanda Station.

02-26-26

  • It's no longer possible for players to access funds that were started by their previous characters.

02-13-26

  • Fixed a bug that would make a ship report its destination each time a pilot would move to the same destination in the sector while GATE is active. As a consequence, attempting to restart GATE without stopping the ship while it has a course is no longer possible.

02-10-26

  • Swinging punching bags will no longer knock people to the ground if they're riding a mount.

02-03-26

  • Added two new gag options for pets wandering and pet actions (emotes and repeater spam).

01-29-26

  • As an experiment, removed Muzatini from the potential Praelor classes encountered out of local space. We'll continue to watch numbers as they roll in, and it may be worthwhile for your sanity to expect this to change or be completely reversed.

01-27-26

  • Fixed a bug where leading and trailing percent signs would get stripped in various places, like SAY and menu imports.

01-06-26

  • Soda fountain cups such as the ones purchased at Plump Paul's will now maintain their container type after being emptied or poured.
  • It's no longer possible to auction tradesman items that are being worn.

01-05-26

  • You will now get a letter in the mail when modifications to vanities requested via the Vanity Workshop on Empanda Station have been completed.

01-02-26

  • STOMPing on drinks will now cause them to explode.

12-24-25

  • Children and pets that are sitting on furniture when retrieved by the NPC that retrieves tradesman items should no longer be sitting on said furniture after retrieval.

12-21-25

  • Food and other robots now have a CHECK command for quickly showing how many supplies they have.

12-14-25

  • It's no longer possible to double install ablative armor on bardenium cannons by renaming them with a Santa box.

12-13-25

  • POLICY 7 has been updated, both in text and examples. In short, using tradesman certificates to purchase in game goods is not ok.

12-10-25

  • It's now possible to wrap huge things such as vanities and furniture if you have two matching sheets of wrapping paper.

12-02-25

  • Fixed a rather nasty exploit in bardenium sheds that was giving the player the full amount of the till while withdrawing the amount that the player actually wanted.

11-26-25

  • It's no longer possible to use a Santa request to submit changes to an existing item in the tradesman labs on Empanda Station.

11-22-25

  • Prompts received when moving to a destination, such as a planet or a wormhole, while NAVI or GATE is active, will go to the player who initiated the move rather than the player who initiated NAVI or GATE.

11-14-25

  • It's now possible to knock on asteroid rovers.

11-13-25

  • We have finally after nearly two decades gotten with the times and added the BRIEF command. This acts as a toggle for ROOM-O 2.

10-27-25

  • Dumping planetary survey scans from a normal container into an artifact storage container no longer causes horrific errors.
  • HELP SPATIAL ANOMALY SCANNER has been updated to reflect that there are certain risks that come with performing the activity.

10-22-25

  • Have unwanted wooden figures lying around? You may now LIGHT them on fire to rid yourself of them.

10-16-25

  • It's no longer possible to demolish a room if it has go exits.

10-15-25

  • To prevent abuse, the @STORE-POC command can no longer be used while stunned or while in a ship owned by someone else.

10-11-25

  • Bardenium sheds now tell you when you've successfully withdrawn credits from the till instead of remaining silent and leaving you wondering if anything actually happened.

10-08-25

  • Avatars may no longer enter the proof of concept store builder.

10-07-25

  • Transferring ships now takes industrial dispensation for upgrades that require combat points into account.

10-04-25

  • While landed, trying to start a cargo transfer when there's already a cargo transfer in progress no longer generates an error.

10-02-25

  • Hitting enter at a rover TRANSFER prompt now transfers all instead of aborting.

09-26-25

  • Because newborn babies don't come out walking and talking, the genetic sequencing lab on empanda no longer allows baby requests to be delivered through pregnancy if they're set to wander, can repeat words they hear, or say random phrases.

09-23-25

  • The RESTORE command on flight control scanners now has a 'Default Configuration' option to restore defaults.

  • The TRANSFER command in asteroid rovers now condenses the equipment list for a more compact menu.

09-18-25

  • Transferring cargo to docked ships now shows an ETA.

09-15-25

  • Made ESCAPE ALL require the ship's authorization code to ABORT.

09-14-25

  • FLIPping tables will now destroy empty dishes in spectacular fashion.

09-12-25

  • The TRANSFER <one container> TO <other container> command now has an option to match arbitrary objects by name instead of making all objects share the same name.

09-06-25

  • Optimized charge boosters no longer count towards the purchasing limit placed on standard charge boosters.
  • Added a new @TOPS list. @SHATTERED-ARTIFACTS for your viewing pleasure.

09-05-25

  • INFO ACHIEVEMENTS will now display the number of archaeological artifacts that you have destroyed. The counter starts from today, sorry, no backlogs.

09-02-25

  • The CHARGE command will now indicate if the ship is being charged by a solar-powered recharging platform.

08-31-25

  • Private organization members may now enter an owner's office if they've been authorized.

08-27-25

08-22-25

  • POLICY 3 has been updated, both in the text and example portions.

08-19-25

  • Published books, videos, canvases and sculptures now have their places of purchase set properly and will no longer show where the original copy was purchased. All copies of published objects that are currently available for purchase have been updated.
  • Fixed a bug in showers. Now everyone gets cleaned when the water is turned on, not just the player who turned the water on. Also, players will now be cleaned when they enter a shower while the water is on.

08-09-25

  • Strollers now properly unfollow when picked up.

07-24-25

  • Droids will now respond to direct addresses. (e.g. -droid shoot victor)

07-21-25

  • When removing a door on a private structure that you own, you will now be told the price prior to completing the transaction.
  • Destroying a private property will now tell you how much you will receive prior to destruction, rather than wiping the property off the map first and telling you later.
  • By request, sinks now have the chance to fill with water and subsequently overflow, making a mess for everybody.

07-17-25

  • There are now transport pods on both Acrylon and Angelus that go between the cities. ENTER will take you between them.

07-03-25

  • Fixed an oversight when requesting to relocate a private space station that displayed the room title of the security center, rather than the station name itself.

07-02-25

  • It is now possible to FLUSH a clogged toilet to slightly amusing results.
  • Added mops to facilitate cleanups caused by matters best left to the imagination.
  • You will now be asked to confirm when giving a key to someone who doesn't meet the point requirements for a ship. You will also now be notified when you're given a key to a ship you don't meet the point requirements for.

06-24-25

  • Tracking drones that are in the mail will now show that they're in the mail instead of displaying the name of the mail storage room.

06-22-25

  • Architectural design simulators will no longer traceback if you attempt to import a design that has rooms using multiple inheritance (for example, a pool that also acts as a store, or a security center that happens to be a thrilling burrito stand).

06-06-25

  • Made some changes to the tradesman transfer station. When transferring a blade that has a sheath or a sheath that has a blade that isn't in its sheath, you'll be told to put the blade inside its sheath first so they can both be transferred. Also, checking to make sure things are empty before transferring them should work properly now.

06-02-25

  • Trying to put a charm on a piece of charm jewelry now says that the charm jewelry is full rather than the charm.
  • The COUNT command will now count charms on charm jewelry instead of checking it for pockets like other types of clothing.
  • Droids will now respond to being slugged.

06-01-25

  • Added the SLUG social. Use it on your friends. Use it on yourself. Or don't use it at all.

05-31-25

  • The @where command should no longer include people who are aboard ships and in other things such as tents inside houses.

05-30-25

  • Gunning NPCs in cannon rooms should now always use cannons if they're loaded and a target isn't moving. This should make things more realistic when fighting against simulated combat drones and taking the battlecruiser test. Previously they chose randomly between lasers and cannons.

05-25-25

  • You now have the ability to throw tissues into toilets.
  • You shouldn't be able to TOSS things into or PLUNGE a closed toilet anymore.

05-24-25

  • The text of POLICY 8 has been updated to fall in line with modern times. No more Skype for us. No sir.

05-23-25

  • Drawing pens up for auction now show their messages, drawings, and ink colors, as well as places they can draw on.

05-22-25

  • It should no longer be possible to bid on an auction while that auction is in the process of ending. Hopefully.

05-17-25

  • Showing information about a communicator on auction will now show its transmit message.

05-16-25

  • Clothing stored in compartmentalized closets will now be purged when a player rerolls unless the clothing is flagged as a tradesman item.

05-14-25

  • Private properties that have been abandoned for five months by their original owner will now be put up for auction after another six months if the next-in-line owner doesn't claim it within that time period.
  • It is no longer necessary to ASSIST in order to claim a private structure. Simply look up the structure in the Shared Offices of Interalliance Real Estate and Interalliance Cooperative Ballroom Dancing Competition Judging Administration on Pax and, if you are eligible to claim it, you will be asked if you wish to do so.

05-12-25

  • Found and fixed an oversight that allowed courier ships to be upgraded.

05-11-25

  • Gumdrop launchers should no longer show in the list of damaged laser turrets when a ship has that Santa box installed.

05-03-25

  • Transferring charge to a Praelor dampening device should work properly now.

04-22-25

  • The NIRP command now supports searching for destinations by name or coordinates. A shortcut is also available through the cleverly named NIRPS [search term] command.

04-17-25

  • Fixed an issue with closets that caused a locket's open status to be added to its description every time it was uncompressed.
  • custom compartmentalized closets now save where clothing was bought from. This works only for clothing bought after the change. Sorry.

04-16-25

  • It's now possible to search surfaces, tables, and refrigerators without needing to hold them.

04-09-25

  • Closed a loophole that allowed people to put anything in a container that restricts what items can be put in it by dumping items from one container into another.

03-14-25

  • The people command now accepts the 'active' or 'unidle' argument ('people a' for short), which will cause it to only show players that are connected and idle for less than an hour.

02-27-25

  • Hopefully tracked down and fixed an issue that was causing mission sectors for the disrupt Praelor fleet training operations mission to recycle before the assigned ship was able to start the mission.

02-07-25

  • Droid remotes now allow you access to the droid's storage compartment.
  • The SORT command now works with droids.

  • Fixed a bug that caused bardenium rearm sheds to add the price of a single unit of bardenium to the till instead of multiplying the price by the number of units purchased.

01-19-25

  • In order to reduce frustration with matching, toilet plungers now attempt to match to the first available clogged toilet if they match to themselves when players type plunge toilet with plunger.

01-14-25

  • Squashed a rather embarrassing bug that caused babies to have their surnames changed if a secondary owner renamed themselves.

12-27-24

  • Added the LAG DELETE (or LAG DEL) command to remove existing network lag meter tokens.

12-16-24

  • Added the PETS or ANIMALS command. It works similarly to the KIDS command and will show you what, if any, animals are in the room with you.

11-29-24

  • It's now possible to wrap single items with a sheet of wrapping paper without putting them in a gift box. Please read board post 100745 for all the details and restrictions.

  • Added the 'WEARING' command to tell you, you know, what you're wearing. 'WEARING ALL' will include miscellaneous clothing as well.

11-18-24

  • Added the @LAG TOKENS command to see any active lag server tokens you may have.

11-01-24

  • The transfer command will now work on private structures allowing suppliers to transfer mined commodities, provided that the structure in question has a Raw Materials Marketplace Node which is also configured to accept specific minerals. Read post 100593 for further details.

10-29-24

  • Fixed an issue where requesting a custom costume would impose restrictions on the number of characters in the description (the costume part). That was only supposed to happen on the mask part.
  • Peeping Toms despair: Fixed an exploit that would allow people to LOOK <room name> in <structure> if they had spacewalked to that structure, which would let them see any room inside from afar with impunity.

10-27-24

  • Upgraded the trick or treat buckets, bags, and pillow cases on Acosta. Now, when holding one and somebody gives you a treat, they will automatically drop it into your bag. (Assuming, of course, you aren't too stunned or occupied to hold the bag out to them.) Similarly, on Halloween, saying 'trick or treat' or visiting the Starship Museum will deposits those tricks or treats into your bag. Unfortunately, exists products won't be upgraded. You'll need to buy a shiny new one.
  • Fixed matching weirdness where trying to GET a container from the ground that shares the alias of a container you're wearing or carrying would result in a weird, unhelpful message. (e.g. you're wearing 'a bag of gifts', there's 'a bag of holding' on the ground, and you're typing 'GET BAG' and it fails with something like 'You don't see a bag in a bag of holding.')
  • Destination finders will now ask if you really want to clear the list of saved destinations.

10-17-24

  • Fixed a matching issue where using the 'my' qualifier would fail to match to objects you own on a surface if you didn't own the surface itself. (For example: You're in a restaurant, sit at a table that the restaurant owns, and set your drink on the table. If you try 'drink my.tea', it would fail.)

10-13-24

  • Atmospheric salvagers will no longer attempt to crash due to power failure while in the process of returning to a ship.

10-02-24

  • Added some more sanitizing to RSS feeds, which should prevent XML validation errors when less than, greater than and ampersand characters appear in entries. To see a list of all existing RSS feeds, you can visit https://miriani.toastsoft.net/rss/
  • Added a GAG-OPTION to ignore custom exit messages, which will force exits to show the default walking message instead.

09-27-24

  • Those desiring more control over what they DUMP from one container to another now have another option: TRANSFER <old container> TO <new container>. This gives you exciting possibilities like choosing specific items from a list, choosing one object from a list and dumping all objects of the same name, or variations of these two themes. This only works on bags and such, not fancy containers like artifact storage containers. Happy dumping!

09-15-24

  • The @CUSTOM-SOCIALS command now has the ability to view custom communicator socials.

09-01-24

  • Stars will now be thoughtful enough to not populate a sector at coordinates directly adjacent to an anomaly.

08-12-24

07-15-24

  • In order to respect consistency with GMU notifications in regards to other upgrades, it is now possible to enable anomaly notifications regardless of the presence of the spatial anomaly scanner upgrade.
  • The INFO command now accepts 'PREVIOUS' as an argument (e.g. INFO PREV) to display achievements of your past characters.
  • Sensor profilers now allow you to save (and restore...) a ship's GMU notification options.
  • Video probes have been added to the list of GMU notifications.

07-12-24

  • Much like in simulated rooms, it is now possible to use the ambience-messages command from rooms of structures owned by you.

07-08-24

  • Since we've had multiple people asking to have their lore computers restored after being purged, Lore computers will no longer be purged along with characters and should appear in salvage containers when the character is restored.

  • It is now possible to obtain damage of a single component. Example: DAM turret 2.

05-24-24

  • You may now use your vehicle to return from an atmosphere to a different ship, provided that you are the ship's owner or alternatively that your vehicle is allowed to return to that specific vessel. To manage the list of allowed vehicles you may use the menu command from the vehicle bay, which requires the vehicle computer interface to be installed.
  • You may now transfer ownership of a vehicle to another player, provided that you and the player in question are in the vehicle bay, you are the owner of the ship from where the transfer is being initiated, and the player meets all the requirements to receive the vehicle. You may initiate the transfer from the menu used to manage vehicles in the vehicle bay.

05-20-24

  • corrected an oversight that prevented the renaming of landing pads on private moons.
  • When importing room message sets, you will no longer be presented with the option to select all message sets from a room when you've already selected all available message sets. Also, you will no longer get a menu with no rooms to select once you've exhausted the menu of available rooms.

05-18-24

  • Selling atmospheric salvagers and combat vehicles no longer auto-deposits into insurance and other greedy funds.

05-16-24

  • Players can once again pilot atmospheric salvagers with upgrades they don't have the ranks for, assuming said upgrades have a passive effect such as additional storage. An example in policy 4 has been added to reflect this.

05-03-24

04-24-24

  • Beacon strength will now be generated dynamically based on how many other beacon-targeting ships are present in the sector, among other things.

  • Your number of successful beacon rescues will now appear under INFO achievements.

04-19-24

04-13-24

  • You can no longer take cover while riding a mount.

04-06-24

  • Added a WAKEUP-OPTION to make you aware when things were said in the room while you were dozing. (You can check what with the 'HISTORY SAY' command.)

03-20-24

  • Oxygen tank air compressors will now show how many slots remain for refilling tanks when you LOOK at them.

03-10-24

  • You can now (optionally) dump the entire menu of an Ultrabot(tm) when perusing the adoption listings.

01-06-24

  • Atmospheric salvager upgrade removal now has a confirmation prompt to prevent accidental upgrade uninstallations.

01-04-24

  • It's no longer possible to load refined bardenium into raw mineral marketplaces. That's what the bardenium shed is for.

12-30-23

  • Fixed some issues with @respond that got introduced when we gave players the ability to respond if they're idle or disconnected when a host sends them a message.

12-12-23
